He is risen
Then Jesus descended into hell,

fought the devil and won!

GOOD FRIDAY
The Two Witnesses have power to affect the earth 'with all plagues as often as they will'.
.....................................................................................This could mean that they publicly proclaim the Trumpet Judgments that are coming upon the earth as Moses did. "these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth." Revelation 11:10
The Two Witnesses have power to kill their enemies with fire. The age of grace has given the way to judgment.
............................................
"And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed." Revelation 11:5
There is a change in dispensations. In the dispensation of grace that is now, we are charged not to 'resist evil'.
..............................................................................................The disciples were rebuked when they suggested that they call down fire from heaven on the Samaritans, as Elijah did. Read Luke 9:52-56.
Immediately opposition will come to the Witnesses. But they will meet it with force calling for judgments like those in the days of Moses and Elijah. .................................................................................................................................... Waters will be turned to blood. Fire will come out of their mouths and destroy their enemies. The heavens are made brass so that no rain can fall. It is likely that they announce the Trumpet Judgments. A supernatural ministry comes forth as never before.
Palm Sunday 2011
The appearance of the Two Witnesses will come as a surprise to the world.....Their origin will be unnoticed.....There will be no foolishness with them.....They have a mission and they will do it without delay. ..................................................................................................................................... They will deal with the wickedness of the Antichrist's kingdom with no uncertain terms. They expose the Satanic character of the Beast and warn people to have nothing to do with him.
And these Two Witnesses will announce coming judgments upon Jerusalem and its people. .............................................................................................................................................. They will tell the Jews that they 'killed the Lord Jesus' 1 Thessalonians 2:14-15 "even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets," and that He will yet be the King over all the earth.
These Two Witnesses will condemn the claims that the beast will soon be making that man is to be exalted. ...................................................................................................They will denounce all his claims as lies!
These Two Witnesses will testify that the judgments that have taken place already in Revelation 6, 8 and 9 are from God. ........................................................................................................ They will warn the people of worse judgments that are coming.
These Two Witnesses will also testify of human wickedness right to the peoples' faces....................................................................................................................................... They will tell the godless just what they are before God.
The Two Witnesses' ministry will be to cry out that judgment is at hand. .............................................................. They will say that the Lord Jesus Christ, who has been rejected is the 'Lord of all the earth.
The Witnesses are clothed in sackcloth indicating the times that these prophets lived. ...................................................................................................................................... Today we do not do that, but sackcloth would be in keeping with Elijah, who was described as "an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins". 2 Kings 1:8
The Two Witnesses of Revelation 11 have a one important ministry because they are ministering to the final events of the age. ................................................................ The same men in Acts 1:10-11, witnessing Jesus' ascension, are probably the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11. But since they are not identified here by name, we can't say for sure that they are. ................................................................................................................. "And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." ...................................................................................................................... .........Two witnesses stand out above all the others. They will appear during the Great Tribulation and they are, Elijah and Moses.
The Two Witnesses of Revelation 11 are extraordinary, they are the ones who stand before God . God has always had those who in a special way are His witnesses for a given time and a given generation.
In 2 Corinthians 13:1 when Paul criticizes the Corinthian Church, he said, "In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established".
God has a principle that no man should be condemned by the mouth of one witness. Divine law requires two or more witnesses when judging a person or a nation. ......................................................... ..................................................................... "One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witness, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established." Deuteronomy 19:15
While the evidece outweighs that Moses is the other Witness, it's not something to be dogmatic about. ..................................................................................... A number of scholars believe that Enoch could be the other Witness.
It seems certain that Enoch just as Elijah didn't have glorified bodies when they were translated. ............................................................................ They couldn't because Christ hadn't been resurrected yet; He was the First-fruit of the resurrected.
As Enoch prophesied, those who are raptured will come back to earth to help judge the wicked. ............................................................................................................... Enoch was a type of the raptured Church, which also will never see death. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-17) ..................................................................................................................... They will have the same testimony as Enoch, who, "before his translation had this testimony, that he pleased God."
"By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God." Hebrews 11:5 ................................................................................. Elijah was translated, but we are not told that he would not see death. We have the statement that Enoch should not see death. .................................................................................. Enoch, seventh from Adam, was the first great prophet of the coming of the Lord. He said, "Behold the Lord cometh with ten thousand of his saints, to execute judgment on all ......" Jude 14-45
It is possible that Moses is one of the Two Witnesses, without breaking the principle that a believer will not die twice like the others that were raised from the dead. Moses fits better than Enoch. The evidence seems to be that Elijah and Moses are the Two Witnesses.
Satan failed to stop Michael, the archangel, and Moses was raised for the dead. He didn't receive a glorified body like Jesus because Jesus hadn't been raised yet Himself. He was to be the First-fruits of the resurrection. .................................................................................................................................... Moses received his physical body back instead. It was with that body that he appeared on the Mount of Transfigureation with Elijah. ................................................................................................................................... "And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. But Peter and they that were with him were heavy with sleep: and when they were awake, they saw his glory, and the two men that stood with him." Luke 9:31
