At the last, the patience of the
patriarchs and the saints is rewarded;

the faith and hopes
of Israel and the Church are fulfilled,

and the glory of God shines forever.
Earth touches heaven and hell.

..........Good and evil meet.

There is no blending, only sharp contrasts
and long conflicts that end in victory for good;
the Beast, the False Prophet and Satan, his hosts
and Death and Hades are cast into the Lake of Fire;
it ends with the creation of the new heaven and new earth.
The Book of Revelation is full of action.

.......It brings heaven and earth close together.

.......................The clouds roll away, thrones, elders and angelic forms are seen; harps, trumpets, cries from bodiless souls and choruses of songs are heard.
The Book of Revelation is a book of completion.

.......It is in its proper place
..................at the end of the Bible.
The Book of Revelation is Jewish because in it God deals again with Israel after the Church is taken out of the world.

......In chapters 6 to 19 He reveals what will happen
during the last [or "Seventieth Week"] of Daniel's Seventy Weeks.
The Book of Revelation is mostly Jewish.

...........................................This is seen in its 'signs' and 'symbols' such as the Tabernacle, the Ark, the Altar, the Trumpets, Plagues and the sealing of the 144,000 of Israel.
These three are seen in the construction of the
Holy City, New Jerusalem.

The CHURCH is the FOUNDATION; represented
by the names of the Twelve Apostles.

ISRAEL the GATES, with the names of the
Twelve Tribes of Israel written over them.

The saved NATIONS are the STREETS, where
they walk in the light of the City's Glory.
The CHURCH is in the beginning.

ISRAEL is in the middle.

The saved NATIONS at the end.
The Book of Revelation being the last prophecy, we naturally expect it to sum up all previous prophecy
and
with all previous prophecy had to do with the Church, Israel and the Nations, we should expect this last prophecy to give us the final word as to them
and
that is what it does.
The Book of Revelation was written to reveal or disclose the purpose of God as to the earth and the nations and we are not prying into God's secrets when we read and study it.
The symbolism of the Book of Revelation shows that it was written for a "special class," for those who are acquainted with the "Word of God," and who have "spiritual discernment," and not to the carnally minded reader.

......"The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong unto us and our children forever."
Deuteronomy 29:29
No one can really understand the Book of Revelation without
understanding the Book of Daniel.

..............The Prophet Daniel was told to
"seal up". . . ." for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of
the end".
Daniel 12:4, 9

...................But the writer of the
Book of Revelation was told " Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this
book: for the time is at hand."
Revelation 22:10
The Book of Revelation is not only a PROPHETIC
book, it is a SYMBOLIC book.

.......................He sent and signified it by His Angel to His servant John. The word signified means given signs and symbols.

.............There are more signs and symbols in this book than in any other book in the Bible.
While Satan hates all Scripture in general, he particularly hates the books of Genesis and Revelation.

...............He attacks the authenticity of Genesis and has Book of Revelation neglected.
It is no wonder that the Book of Revelation is
...........avoided because of its mysterious
...........characters.

It is one of Satan's 'devices' of to get the people
..to neglect a book that tells of him
....being cast out of heaven;
......being imprisonment in the bottomless pit
for a 1000 years; and
........his being cast into the lake of fire forever.
Nothing is said about understanding the Book
of Revelation, but blessed is he that readeth, or
too illiterate to read, blessed are they that hear,
that is, who listens to its reading.

The reference here is to the 'readers' and 'hearers'
of the Scripture as read in the Synagogues in the
Bible days.
There is no place for 'additions' or 'subtractions' in the Book of Revelation.

...........It opens with a 'blessing' promised to the reader and ends with a 'curse' upon those who
'add to' or 'take from' it.
Revelation 1:3; 22:18-19
"the words of THIS PROPHECY," in them
...................all unfulfilled prophecy is fulfilled.

It is the "finality" in prophecy until Jesus returns.

.................There has been no "new revelation"
since the Book of Revelation was written.
"Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the
words of THIS PROPHECY,"
.......................Revelation 1:3
The Book of Revelation is a prophetic book.
.............It is not history.
It doesn't record the past, but it reveals the future.
Jesus sent this message to John by His Angel.

We are not told who this Angel is,
but when John fell down to worship him,
he said, "See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant and of the brethren the prophets and of them which keep the sayings of this book."
Revelation 22:8-9
The Book of Revelation isn't a collection of
Jewish literature mixed with heathen visions
Christianized, making it a 'patchwork' of
Jewish and Heathen Folklore.

It is the Revelation of Jesus Christ,
which God gave to Him,
to show unto His servants
things which must shortly come to pass.
In its subject matter and its language, which is in agreement with its contents, the Book of Revelation differs from all other books and is incomparably above them, revealing its Divine Authorship.

..............In fact, it is the part of the New Testament to which Jesus gives His approval and attaches His signature, saying at the end. . ."I Jesus have sent Mine Angel to testify unto you these things in the Churches." Revelation 22:16
The fact that the style of the Book of Revelation
is different from the other books of John,
his Gospel and his Epistles,
is the strongest evidence
that John did not compose the Book,
but that it was dictated or shown to him.
John, the apostle, is the writer of the Book of Revelation; but he is not the author or composer.

The author was the Lord Jesus Himself.

Twice he declared that the contents of the Book were revealed to him by an angel. Revelation 1:1 and 22:8
After Jesus' ascension,
He received the information from the Father
that the disciples asked for.
And before the end of the first century,
while at least one of the disciples was still living,
John,
Jesus sent an angel messenger to impart to him
and through him to the churches,
the information that is "unveiled"
in the Book of Revelation.

...........The canon of Scripture would not be complete without the message from Jesus to His Church after His return to Heaven.
Just before Jesus died, He was asked, when will the things that He had prophesied against Jerusalem should come to pass Mark 13:1-31.

......................................He answered (vs 32), "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father."
What is revealed in the Book of Revelation,
........was given to Jesus, by God the Father,
.....................to show unto His Servants the
....."things which must shortly come to pass."
The word "Revelation" in the Greek is "apocalupsis".

..................It's the title "THE APOCALYPSE" by which it is often called.

............It is from the verb meaning to unveil; this means a taking away of a veil, as when a statue is unveiled, that what is behind the veil may be seen.

........It's not so much a revelation or unveiling of the Person of Christ, though it discloses His High Priestly and Kingly glory, as it is the unveiling of those events that shall come before and with His return to the earth.
The 'title' of the Book of Revelation describes its character.

.........................It isn't "The Revelation of St John as the heading of some of the older Bibles would have lead us to believe, but it is "THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST."
"THE REVELATION OF Jesus Christ,
WHICH GOD GAVE UNTO HIIM, TO SHOW UNTO
HIS SERVANTS THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY
COME TO PASS;
AND HE SENT AND SIGNIFIED IT BY HIS ANGEL
UNTO HIS SERVANT John:
WHO BARE RECORD OF THE WORD OF GOD,
AND OF THE TESTIMONY OF JESUS CHRIST,
AND OF ALL THINGS THAT HE SAW.

THE BLESSING
BLESSED IS HE THAT 'READ' AND THEY THAT
'HEAR' THE WORDS OF THIS PROPHECY, AND
'KEEP' THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE WRITTEN
THEREIN: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND."
Revelation 1:1-3
