We need to distinguish between the body of the Beast and its heads and horns.

The body being a Leopard with feet of a Bear and the mouth of   a Lion shows that the revived Roman Empire will include the characteristics of the first three wild beasts of Daniel.
They are the Lion - Babylon,
                     Bear - Medo Persia,
                     Leopard - Greece
It couldn't be said in John's day that the Roman Empire was, and is not because it was at it's height of power then.

And it can't be said of it that it shall ascend out of the pit and go into perdition, because that can only be said of a person.
The Scarlet Beast as the revived Roman Empire is seen coming out of the sea of the nations.

But as the Antichrist, it comes up out of the Abyss.
A Scarlet colored Beast.

"I saw a Woman sit upon a scarlet colored Beast, full of names of blasphemy, having Seven Heads and Ten Horns.
I will tell thee the mystery of the Woman and of the Beast that carried her which hath the Seven Horns.
The Beast that thou sawest was and is not; and shall ascend out of the Bottomless Pit and go into perdition.
The Seven Heads are Seven Mountains on which the Woman sitteth.
And they (the seven heads) are Seven Kings; Five are fallen and One is and the other is not, yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
And the Beast that was, and is not, even he is the Eighth, and is of the Seven and goeth into perdition.
And the Ten Horns which thou sawest are Ten Kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the Beast.
These have one mind and shall give their power unto the Beast. . . .
And the Ten Horns which thou sawest upon the Beast, these shall hate the whore and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill His will and to agree and give their kingdom unto the Beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled."
Daniel's Little Horn and John's Beast are to continue for the same length of time, forty and two months or 3 1/2 years.

Daniel's Little Horn, Paul's Man of Sin and John's Beast are all to be destroyed in the same way at Christ's Second Coming.

They all are of the same evil power which is the working of satan which is the Antichrist.
John saw "A Beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
And the Beast which I saw was like a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear and his mouth of a lion: and the Dragon gave him his power and his seat (Throne) and great authority.
And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death: and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the Beast.
And they worshipped the Dragon which gave power unto the Beast saying, who is like unto the Beast? Who is able to make war with him?
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months."
If Judas and the Antichrist are both called the Son of Perdition, are there two Sons of Perdition or are they one and the same?

In Revelation, the Beast that killed the Two Witnesses ascends out of the Bottomless Pit (Abyss) and that Beast is the Antichrist. How did he get there?

If there is only one Son of Perdition; and Judas and the Antichrist are the same, then he got in the Abyss when Judas went to his own place.
God said to the Serpent (Satan), "I will put enmity between thee and the woman and between thy seed and her seed."

The Woman's seed was Christ, the Serpent's seed the Antichrist.
Just as iniquity is the opposite of godliness, the Mystery of Iniquity must be the opposite of the Mystery of Godliness.

If Jesus is the Mystery of Godliness; the Antichrist must be the Mystery of Iniquity AND as Christ, the Son of God; then the Antichrist the Son of Perdition of satan.
Jesus is spoken of as the Mystery of Godliness, that he was God manifested in the flesh.

By being born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit, Jesus became the Son of God.
Paul named the Antichrist the 'Son of Perdition'.  The name is used only twice in the Scriptures; by Jesus of Judas and here of the Antichrist.

Paul also calls the Antichrist the 'Mystery of Iniquity'.
In the ASB the Antichrist is called the Mystery of Lawlessness or the Lawless One.

He is not the cause of lawlessness, but he is the result or fruit of it, because he will arise out of the lawlessness that is now becoming more and more manifested in the world.
"Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth [Christ] that they might be saved."
The Mystery of Iniquity was already working in Paul's day; only He being the Church who restrains will restrain until He be taken out of the way.

And then shall that wicked one be revealed, the one that the Lord will consume with His breath and will destroy with the brightness of His coming.
Paul's View

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day, the day of the Lord, shall not come except there come a falling away first and the Man of Pedition, who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God (the rebuilt Temple at Jerusalem), showing himself that he is God."
Daniel's view of the Antichrist is necessary to understand the meaning of the Beast which John saw coming up out of the sea.
The Little Horn of the HEGOAT is to be broken without hand.  His [Antichrist's] kingdom is to be destroyed by a stone cut out of the mountain without hands, and he, himself shall be paralyzed by the brightness of the Lord's Coming, and he shall be cast alive into the Lake of Fire.
Those who say that the Little Horn in Daniel 7 and the Little Horn in Daniel 8 are not the same because the one in chapter 7 comes out of the Ten Horns of the Fourth Wild Beast which represents the Roman Empire and the one in chapter 8 comes from one of  the Horns on the HEGOAT that represents the Grecian Empire that agrees  with the Third Wild Beast; they forget that the vision John had of the revived Roman Empire was in its last stage, revealing the fact that it includes all the characteristics of the whole Four Empires, Babylon, Medo-Persian, Grecian and old Roman.
We have learned the probability that the Antichrist will be a Syrian Jew because it is not likely the Jews will accept anyone but a Jew as their Messiah.
We can't let ourselves be confused by the different names given to the Antichrist, like 'King of Tyrus', 'the King of Babylon' and the 'King of Assyria', because that section of the world will make up one area in the days of the Antichrist and he will be known by all of these names.
This prophecy of Isaiah shows that it's connected with the restoration of Israel to their own land, not after the Babylonian Captivity, but a restoration that is still in the future, for the Assyrian Empire had been swallowed up by the Babylonian when the Prophet wrote and the Assyrian King mentioned here must be some future Assyrian King because he is to be brought to Palestine and destroyed there.
Isaiah also said,  "I will break the Assyrian [Antichrist]  in My Land [Palestine], and upon My mountains tread him under foot; then shall his yoke depart from off them [Israel], and his burden from off their shoulders."
