The False Prophet will work miracles through the power of Satan.

Jesus worked His miracles through the mighty power of the Holy Spirit.
Just as the followers of Jesus Christ are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the Day of Redemption; the followers of the Antichrist will be sealed by the False Prophet until the Day of Perdition.
The False Prophet causes the earth and those living in it to worship the First Beast/Antichrist.

He also has the power to give life and he imitates the Holy Spirit.
The Antichrist will exalt himself and claim to be God.

The Second Beast/False Prophet is not a King.  He doesn't exalt himself, but he exalts the First Beast/the Antichrist.

The False Prophet is to the Antichrist what the Holy Spirit is to Jesus Christ.
The Antichrist is to rule as a king over a kingdom.

He will accept the 'Kingdoms of this world' that Satan had offered to Jesus in the wilderness but had refused them.
Satan has his trinity, the Dragon, the Beast and the False Prophet. Satan's imitation of God's Holy Trinity.

The Dragon, the Father (the Anti-god); the Beast, is the Son of Perdition (the Anti-christ) begotten of the Dragon and the False Prophet the false spirit (the Anti-spirit).

All three will be cast alive into the Lake of Fire.
The Second Beast comes up out of the earth.

The fact that the First Beast, the Antichrist, and the Second Beast, the False Prophet, are cast alive into the Lake of Fire is proof that they are more than ordinary people.

The First Beast is more than the last ruler of the revived Roman Empire.  He is the Antichrist, Satan's superman.
The Second Beast has a name. He is called the False Prophet three times. Twice he is associated with the First Beast who is the Antichrist and once with the Dragon which is Satan.

The fact that he is called the False Prophet is proof that he is not the Antichrist.

Jesus was looking ahead when He said, "There shall arise False Christs and False Prophets and shall show great signs and wonders: insomuch that, if it were possible they shall deceive the very elect."  Here Jesus shows a difference between False Christs and False Prophets so they cannot be the same.
"And he (Antichrist) causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a Mark in their right hand or in their foreheads; and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the Mark or the Name of the Beast, or the Number of his Name.
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the Number of the Beast: for it is the number of man: and his number is six hundred threescore and six (666)"
The Beast out of the earth.
The False Prophet or Antichrist.

"And I beheld another Beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb and he spake as a Dragon.
And he exerciseth all the power of the First Beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the First Beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the Beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an Image to the Beast, which had the wound by a sword and did live.
And he had power to give life unto the image of the Beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the Beast should be killed."
"He shall speak great words against the Most High and shall wear out the saint of the Most High and think to change times and laws."

"He shall also stand up against the 'Prince of Princes'"  (Jesus).

"He shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself and magnify himself above every god and shall speak marvelous things against the God of Gods."
The Antichrist will act like everyones friend, especially of the Jews and he will be a humanitarian.

He will persuade the people that he has come to bring in the Golden Age pictured by the prophets and many will receive him as their Messiah.
The Antichrist will be a man who has the characteristics, abilities and powers of Nebuchadnezzar, Xerxes, Alexander the Great
and Caesar Augustus all at once.

He will have the gift of attracting men, an irresistible personality, can do everything, superhuman wisdom, great administrative and executive abilities, a flatterer, a brilliant diplomat, and a superb strategist. All will be given to him by Satan.
As the Little Horn of Daniel's Fourth Wild Beast, the Antichrist will destroy three of the Ten Kings and set himself in power; and as the Little Horn, he doesn't appear until after the Ten Horns or Ten Kingdoms come into existence.
The Antichrist then breaks the Agreement with the Jews and desecrates the Temple by setting up the Abomination of Desolation which is an idol of himself.
By the resurrection of the Antichrist, Satan imitates the resurrection of Jesus Christ and makes the world wonder after the Beast.

This adds to his importance and power.

If this happens in the middle of the week, [middle of the Great Tribulation] at the time the Dragon is cast out of heaven, it will explain the change taken place in the Antichrist before receiving the deadly wound.

He was kind and giving before but after he recovers he becomes devilish as a result of Satan possessing him.
"And the Beast which I saw was like unto a Leopard and his feet were as the feet of a Bear and his mouth as the mouth of a Lion; and the Dragon gave him his power, and his seat and great authority.
And I saw one who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the Temple of God  (the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem) showing himself that he is God."
"Therefore the Hegoat waxed very great; and when he was strong, the Great Horn was broken; and for it came up Four Notable Ones toward the four winds of heaven.
And out of one of them came forth a Little Horn which waxed exceeding great, toward the South and toward the East and toward the Pleasant Land (Palestine).
And it waxed great even to the Host of Heaven; and it cast down some of the Host and of the Stars to the ground and stamped upon them."
John: "After this I saw in the night visions and behold a Fourth Beast, dreadful and terrible and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and brake in pieces and stamped the residue (the 3 previous Beasts) with the feet of it; and it was diverse from all the Beasts that were before it; and it had Ten Horns.
I considered the Horns and behold, there came up among them another Little Horn, before whom there Three of the First Horns plucked up by the roots; and behold, in this Horn were eyes like the eyes of a Man and a mouth speaking great things."
Revelation tells us that one of the Seven Heads or Kings receives a deadly wound.  Which one not being told, it appears to be the last because the Beast has all of his Heads before one of them is wounded.

"He is called the Beast that was and is not, even he is the Eighth and is of the Seventh, and goeth into perdition."

The only clear answer is that the Seventh Head, the Antichrist, is the one who receives the deadly wound.
We are told that the Seven Heads of the Beast represent Seven Mountains; then we are told right after that, that the Seven Heads also represent Seven Kings of whom "Five are fallen and one is and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh he must continue a short space."

That is, in John's day "Five of these Kings had fallen, one was the ruling Emperor and the Seventh was yet to come.

Who the fallen five kings are, are not known.  The one who was ruling was the one in John's day and was the one who had banned John to the Isle of Patmos; and the one who is yet to come has to be the Antichrist.
When the The Kings receive their kingdoms and be crowned, they "shall hate the whore and shall make her desolate and naked and shall eat her flesh and burn her with fire."
There's no doubt that the 'Papal Church' will be a major part and will be rewarded to political power.

The union of Church and State where the Church will have control is shown by the Woman riding the Beast.
Before the rise of the Antichrist, the nations found in the Old Roman Empire will form an alliance for protection.

They will be the ten nations represented by the Ten Horns of the Beast.
The Beast that comes up out of the Abyss also has seven heads and ten horns, but they aren't crowned because these kings haven't received their kingdoms yet.

This implies that this Beast represents the Antichrist at the beginning of the Week.  It confirms that the Woman is seen riding the Beast. She rides the Beast from the beginning of the Week. She represents the Church [Papal] that comes to power after the True Church has be caught out [raptured].
The Beast that comes up out of the sea has seven Heads with ten horns and the horns have crowns.

This represents the Beast or Empire at its most power, when it will have all its heads and when the Ten Kings of the ten kingdoms into which the Empire will be divided, will be crowned.
