Revelation 17:4 tells us that the Woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colors and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a Golden Cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornications.

Of the different articles that the Pope wears when he is installed into office are scarlet.  A vest covered with pearls and a mitre, adorned with gold and precious stones was also to be worn.

This answers the description of the Woman dressed and sitting on a Scarlet Colored Beast.
The bride of the Antichrist is not a literal city, it's a religious and apostate system. the followers of all false religions.

The bride of Christ is the Church, the regenerated followers of Jesus.
It was first revealed to Paul that Christ was to have a Bride and the Mystery that Antichrist is to have a bride was revealed to John on the Isle of Patmos.

The name of the Antichrist's bride is Babylon the Great.
The fact that "after these things",  that is after the destruction of the Woman,  what happens to the City occurs.

This shows that the Woman and the City are not one and the same.

The Woman's name is Mystery Babylon the Great. Paul called the Church a 'mystery' because it wasn't known to the Old Testament saints.
The Woman is destroyed by the Ten Kings; the Kings of the Earth, "bewail and lament" the destruction of the City which is not destroyed by them, but by a mighty earthquake and fire.

The Woman is destroyed 3 1/2 years before the City.
In the eighteenth chapter there is a City, a literal city, called Babylon the Great.

The Woman and the City don't symbolize the same thing.  What is said about the Woman doesn't apply to the city and what is said about the City doesn't apply to the woman.
The seventeenth chapter of Revelation is of a Woman and she is called Mystery Babylon the Great, The Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth.
The ancient city of Babylon, restored, plays a part in the events of the last days of this Dispensation.

This is seen from what is said in the 17th and 18th chapters of Revelation.
The Seven Dooms
The First Doom
Mystery Babylon the Great
Revelation 17:1-18

"And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
The Antichrist (that wicked one) shall be consumed by the "Spirit of the Lord's Mouth."

If we take these statements literal or not, they stand for some supernatural means of destruction.

The Antichrist himself will not be destroyed personally but will live forever in the Lake of Fire.  Those destroyed will be his followers.
Out of the mouth of Christ, at His return, will go a sharp sword that with it He should smite the nations, Revelation 19:15.
The Great Hail may not fall until the time comes in the Battle of Armageddon to destroy the Antichrist and his friendly armies.

Hailstones will be the weapons used by the armies of Heaven.
The Seventh Vial covers the whole time period from when the Seventh Angel pours out its plague until Jesus returns to the Mount of Olives.

The earthquake that splits the Mount of Olives upheaves the land of Palestine, levels mountains, submerges islands and destroys the cities in the area along with the City of Babylon; is caused by the touch of Jesus' feet on the mount at His return (second coming).
Great Hail will fall on people.  Each stone will weigh about a talent or 100 pounds.

This is a repetition of the Seventh Egyptian Plague.

The Law required that blasphemers were to be stoned to death.  These blasphemers of the end times will be stoned from heaven.
The Seventh Seal and the Seventh Trumpet and the pouring out of the Seventh Vial the same things happen.  Voices, thunderings are heard, great lightning is seen and great earthquakes take place.

At the sounding of the Seventh Trumpet and the pouring out of the Seventh Vial there is great hail storms.

All refer to the same period, the End of the Week.  The Seventh Vial was from the Throne and cried "It Is Done."
The Seventh Vial
Great Hail
Revelation 16:17-21

"And the Seventh Angel poured out his Vial into the air: and there came a great voice out of the Temple of Heaven, from the Throne, saying it is done.
And there were voices and thunders and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake and so great.
And the Great City (Jerusalem) was divided into three parts and the cities of the nations fell and Great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
And every island fled away and the mountains were not found.
And there fell upon men a Great Hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the Plague of the Hail; for the Plague thereof was exceeding great."
