Our Christian authority has been challenged by the devil.
1 Timothy 4:1, Now the Holy Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils.
As we receive the gift, we must give.
Every generation is under the divine command.
1 Peter 4:10  As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
The Church is under a divine command.
Mark 16:15-17 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Adam gave in to satan and lost his dominion.

He became a fallen creature; but Jesus redeems all man from this bondage . John 8:32-36And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.
And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Adam was created and given dominion by God.
Genesis 1:26-27   And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Jesus was master over all demons and the devil.
They feared Him - They confessed His power to destroy them.
Matthew 8:29  And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Jesus knew the number of demons in a person.
Mark 1:26 casted out one -   And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
Mark 1:32 casted out many -  And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.
Mark 5:9 casted out legions - And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
Jesus also identified demon spirits as spirits as wild.
Mark 5:3-4, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
Jesus also identified demon spirits as spirits of infirmity.
Luke 13:11  And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
Jesus identified demon spirits.
Mark 9:24-25  And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
At the temptation, devil attacked Jesus three times.
Matthew 4:3 self-preservation -  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Matthew 4:6 self-adulation - And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Matthew 4:8 self-glorification -Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them

Matthew 26:14-15, Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
The devil stirred the religious leaders to hate and plot the death of Jesus.
Matthew 26:3-4 Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, And consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.
While Jesus slept, the devil wanted to kill Him.
Matthew 8:23-25  And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.  And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
The people of Nazareth tried to throw Jesus off a hill top.
Luke 4:29  And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.
In His life and ministry, Jesus constantly dealt with the devil and demons.

Herod tried to kill Him by killing the boy babies of Bethlehem through those he controlled, Matthew 2:16.
